The slogan above is based on a climatological survey conducted by the United States and German governments prior to World War I. It is emblazoned on arches across Broadway at the east and west entrances to the revitalized downtown.

Redwood City was incorporated in the 1860’s and is one of the county’s oldest cities and it’s also the county seat. The downtown offers a vibrant nightlife and has wonderful historical buildings including the old courthouse, which was revitalized in 2006 and offers wonderful concerts in the plaza fronting the building during the summer months.
